This was a portrait I drew for the girl's 16th birthday. Although the portrait doesn't capture all of her characteristics, I attempted to sketch her prominent cheeks, forehead, and eyes.

Portrait T.A.

This is a portrait of a bold girl who I see almost everyday at school. Whenever I sent out an open response asking what I should draw, she asked me to draw her portrait. Her prominent features are captured in the portrait. Her most distinguished characteristics would be her head shape, hair, and eyes.

Portrait Marie Curie

This is a portrait of the Polish physicist and chemist, Marie Curie. The reason why I drew her portrait was for a chemistry project, where we were assigned to explain how her accomplishments and knowledge has affected us now. Marie Curie worked mainly in France, and is famous for her pioneering research on radioactivity. She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize, as well as the only woman to win in two fields, and the only person to win in multiple sciences.

This is a portrait of a friend who I currently see everyday at school. I decided to draw her portrait after she asked when she looked through my previous sketches. Her most prominent features were her mouth, eyes, and hair.

When she looked at my previous drawings, she asked if I could sketch her portrait. Her most prominent features were her lips and creases beneath her eyes.

I met this person in Tucson, Arizona, where I joined my school to attend a sustainability conference. When this girl saw my previous sketches, she asked if I could draw her portrait.Her most prominent features were her eyebrows and eyes.

Satellite

This sketching was for a project in chemistry centered around Marie Curie. We were assigned to create a project that focused on how Marie Curie has impacted our lives today. My group asked me to draw this satellite, since this was one of the tools Marie Curie helped form from her knowledge and accomplishments.

Christmas Card

The drawing assignment, "Holiday Card." Given that it was around the holidays I decided to go with a charming Christmas Card. I attempted to give a warm, cozy attraction as if it were Christmas morning with gifts under the tree. With a classy font that wrote "Merry Christmas," this is certainly one of my favorite drawings. I also ask that you ignore the smudge marks as I encounter the struggle of being left-handed.

Half-Face

The drawing assignment, "Complete the other-half." As we walked into class we were each given a half face from a magazine. We were then assigned to mimic the other side, to complete the other side of the person's face. To the best of my ability I focused on imitating his prominent facial features. Such as the other half of his nose, his eyes, cheek bones, and mouth.

Teddy Bear

The drawing assignment, "Children's Toy." The reason why I drew this particular stuffed bear was because this was actually my childhood toy. Growing up I played with the teddy bear and managed to keep it in adequate shape. I concentrated on how I could depict this toy bear as fluffy and soft as it is in reality. I attempted to depict this by sketching ruffles all around the bear, to portray the furry soft exterior.

2x2 Dollar Bill

The drawing assignment, "2x2 Dollar Bill." This was a distinct sketching as we had measure out 2inches by 2 inches of a dollar. Although the details within the portion of the bill were rather difficult, I'm certain that it some-what resembles a part of the dollar bill.

Six Pencils

The drawing assignment, "Six Pencils." Not my proudest drawing, but I'd say a some-what decent depiction. In the drawing it's rather hard to grasp the surface these pencils are on, considering how the top three and bottom three look like their on different surfaces.

Vintage Coke Bottle

The drawing assignment, "Brand." This glass coke bottle although it is depicted as a some-what full bottle, it is realistically empty.

Four Leaves

The drawing assignment; "Four leaves." I encountered a difficult time sketching these leaves especially due to the shading. It was extremely difficult to shade between all of the leaf's wrinkles and cracks. However, I can't say that I'm not proud of this work for I am.

Kitchen Utensils

The drawings assignment; "Sketch three kitchen utensils." As I rummaged around my kitchen I selected these three utensils because they were some-what distinguished from the rest. The three utensils I selected were a spatula, ice-cream scooper, and a potato peeler.

First pair of Soccer Cleats

This is a sketch of my very first pair of soccer cleats. The significance in these beat-up shoes is that these were not only my very first cleats, but the cleats I wore in my very first Varsity soccer game. Through all the nerves, sweat, blood, bruises, and sores these pair of cleats have protected me and helped me play my favorite sport. Every scratch and dirty wrinkle on the cleats serve as a reminder of how hard I've worked and the dedication I put forth.
